Our Story
Kenyan Furnished Rentals LLC (KFR) — pronounced KAY-FAR — is a veteran-, Black-, and woman-owned, owner-operated boutique medical housing provider serving Colorado’s hospital community.
We intentionally operate small.
With four carefully managed homes, we provide stable, fully furnished residences for patients, caregivers, and families navigating medical transition. Our size allows us to coordinate placements directly, prioritize fit, and remain personally accountable to every stay.
We believe recovery requires more than discharge — it requires environment.
Each KFR home is prepared with clinical awareness and practical simplicity: comfortable bedrooms, private laundry, full kitchens, reliable utilities, and layouts designed for dignity and safety. Functional over luxury. Stability over scale.
We frequently work with hospital-referred guests — including case managers, discharge planners, and social-work teams — while also coordinating directly with families traveling for treatment. Our intake is personal and structured, because the right placement protects everyone.
KENYAN-INSPIRED DESIGN
Our Kenyan-inspired spaces reflect warmth, cultural hospitality, and gratitude — quiet places where families can breathe, rest, and rebuild strength.
Rooted in Kenya, where our founder was born, this is not a theme — it is a design approach focused on creating environments that feel grounded, stable, and supportive during transition.
This is not design for aesthetics. It is design for recovery — reducing stress, easing decision fatigue, and helping patients and caregivers settle more quickly in an unfamiliar place.
Color and authentic Kenyan artwork—sourced directly from Kenya—are intentionally integrated throughout each space, creating an environment that feels lived-in, warm, and human rather than neutral or impersonal.
As an owner-operated boutique medical housing provider, every space is personally designed and maintained with direct accountability — ensuring the environment supports the stay, not complicates it.
COLOR + CULTURAL INTENT
Our website colors are intentional and rooted in the Kenyan flag — reflecting the cultural foundation behind our spaces.
- Black — people and human connection
- Red — resilience and the strength required to move through difficult moments
- Green — grounding, restoration, and environmental stability
- White — clarity, peace, and continuity during transition
These principles are carried into each space through color, artwork, and layout—reinforcing a stable, grounded environment during extended stays.
“Each home is prepared with care and gratitude — a quiet reflection of service through hospitality.” — Anna Kakai, Founder
Our Cause — The Healing Stays Program
The Healing Stays Program extends our mission beyond housing.
Through a portion of paid stays and support from community partners, we offer complimentary short-term residencies to families navigating medical treatment or recovery. These stays provide a quiet place to rest, regroup, and restore during some of life’s most challenging moments.
Because healing is not only clinical — it is also emotional, environmental, and deeply human.
“I built this company on the belief that where you wake up matters, especially when life feels heavy. The Healing Stays Program ensures that a peaceful, private sanctuary isn’t a luxury—it’s part of the recovery process. By opening our doors to families navigating difficult chapters, we provide space to breathe, regroup, and find strength.”
— Anna Kakai, Founder
